Working Principles of a Digital Voice Recorder:

Sound Capture:

A digital voice recorder typically has an internal or external microphone. The microphone converts sound's acoustic energy into electrical signals, effectively capturing the sound.

Analog-to-Digital Conversion (ADC):

To store the captured sound, the electrical signals need to be transformed into digital signals. The digital voice recorder achieves this through an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC). During this process, the ADC measures the amplitude of the analog signal, converting our electrical signal into a series of binary digits, often referred to as the digital signal.

Digital Signal Processing:

The signals we collect are often diverse, containing various types of noise. At this point, we need to process the sound to ensure that we store only what we need. This is where DSP noise reduction technology comes into play. Through Digital Signal Processing (DSP), we apply filtering, noise reduction, and audio enhancement to improve sound quality and clarity.

Audio Encoding:

After obtaining the desired sound, we need to store it. At this stage, the audio file is a long string of binary digits, making the file very large. We need to compress the file through encoding. Common audio encoding algorithms used in digital voice recorders include MP3, AAC, WAV, and more. These algorithms compress the data while ensuring sound quality.

Storage and Management:

The compressed audio data, in digital formats like MP3 or WAV, is stored on storage media such as memory cards or internal storage. This facilitates later playback, editing, or transmission.

Audio Playback:

When playback is required, the digital voice recorder reads the stored audio file and decodes it into the original digital audio data using a decoding algorithm. Subsequently, the digital audio data is converted into an analog signal through a Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) and played through the speaker.
